Art Gallery Visit: Morgan Contemporary Glass Gallery
My second art gallery visit was actually on the same street as GalleriE CHIZ, it is called Morgan Contemporary Glass Gallery. I love blown glass, so I was really interested in going here. However when I went they were actually in the building across the street because their normal building had flooded (thats why it looks so dark). But we still got to see everything because they were set up in a temporary location while they renovated the old one. Everyone here was very friendly. You could tell they were all passionate about glass and wanted to answer any questions that I had. The first thing that caught my eye when I walked in were these glass birds:
I loved that they were all so similar, but each was painted differently. I this people who can use glass as a medium are so inspiring because it's such a delicate thing, it must take a lot of patience and skill. Every time I go to a glass gallery of any art gallery that has glass in it, I always say I'm going to take glass blowing lessons, but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe someday. Anyways, I loved this gallery, each piece was beautifully done and very unique. I would definitely go back here when they have their next show.
I could only blow glass in my dreams, it's the only art form I wouldn't try simply because I know the terrible outcome..
ReplyDeleteThe medium of glass is so interesting to me, it requires so much skill and patience. The birds are absolutely fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI remember going to the glass center with Kitty. Seeing how they can make that stuff is pretty awesome. Art can really branch out into all kinds of fields, and I think glass shows us that. I'd like to see what the artists from the Renaissance would make if they had the capability and such to do stuff like this.
